What is the EMIG?

The European Market Intelligence Group (EMIG) is a joint venture of European database builders consisting of Rhetorik (UK and Nordics), Comm'Back (France), AMA (Germany), Sirmi (Italy), Samira & Sineb (Spain), Computer Profile (Benelux), Jota (Austria) and JPJ (Switzerland). Each EMIG member has been established for many years and is widely acknowledged as the leading database builder in their respective countries.

Each member of the EMIG has integrated their products to offer IT marketers a single unique European database. IT manufacturers and suppliers can now obtain an overall view of the IT and Communications infrastructure within their corporate target markets both at a local and European level. Most importantly, the database is offered in a consistent format, via a web-based software application, enabling clients to query and analyze the database with ease.

Together, the EMIG members provide a homogenous European database consisting of 186,000 companies with detailed IT infrastructure profiles and over 883,000 decision-makers.

How is the European Database Built and Maintained?

The database is built entirely by telephone research. Our largest research centers are based in the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. From these centers we conduct telephone interviews with IT decision-makers throughout Europe. Typically, each of these call centers employs a staff of 20-30 trained researchers.

The contact and company information contained within the database is updated and uploaded weekly onto the web application. New companies are added to the database primarily from new company registrations. In addition, the database is constantly analyzed and measured against available government statistics and third party sources to ensure that the data universe offered is representative in terms of both company size, location and business activities.

In addition, we endeavor to only capture "IT decision-making sites". That is, those sites where persons responsible for IT decision-making reside within a particular organization.

How is Quality Maintained and Assured?

Each call center employs the same technology for data capture as well as the same questionnaires and training methodologies. This ensures consistency and accuracy across each region. Furthermore, each site and contact record on the database is given an individual unique code. These codes can be tracked to the telephone researcher responsible for profiling and updating the data and to the QA Manager responsible for each country.
